Brian Jastrebsky - about

 

Brian grew up in Chesapeake, VA and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 2004. He served 4 years, including a tour in Iraq before leaving the service in 2008. He is now an apprentice working on new construction of elevators. He is also an avid hunter and fishermen. Brian started running as a way to honor his cousin Steven Swydek who was killed in action in Iraq. He, along with several relatives, ran the Marine Corp Marathon in his memory. Brian did his first triathlon in 2010 and side stroked the entire swim and still managed to win his age group. After dealing with some serious back problems throughout the 2013 and 2014 triathlon seasons, Brian has decided to take a step away from triathlon and focus on endurance cycling for the rest of the 2014 season and into 2015.
